Welcome to the Nydegger MTC!
CIAO A TUTTI!
Officially 1 1/2 weeks into the online MTC and I LOVE IT! I love being a missionary, I love putting my name tag on every morning, I love my district and companions, I love learning ITALIANO and I love learning more about the gospel and how to be a missionary and teach! There are definitely highs and lows to each day but overall I am doing so well and it's fun to share this experience with my family :)
My district has 11 people in it... half are going to Rome and half to Milan! And it's SO FUN to have my best bud SORELLA ABBY HARRIS in the same district (see pic below wahoo)! We get to see each other over screen everyday! I was excited to everyone that she and I had been friends since sophomore year. Love her haha. And also some funny moments of inside jokes too :)
I am in a trio with 2 of THE sweetest companions ever! Sorella Pitt and Sorella Kroff! We all live in Utah, each 30 minutes from me in different directions so we definitely will be meeting IN PERSON soon. We get along so well, teach well together, motivate each other, can just talk and laugh for a longgg time (like our comp study this morning accidentally almost turned into 2 hours HAHA). I LOVE them! It has only been 1.5 weeks and I feel like they are my best friends! And over zoom... did not think that was possible! Seriously the sweetest girls ever. I feel so lucky.
We do our companionship study in the mornings, and then have class right after from 9-12, and then later class 1:30-4:30. Then 2 hours of personal/language study... occasional devotionals and workshops and lessons! And then my family does our own family devotional at night... so our days are packed! But i love staying busy and getting so much done each day. We had two TRC lessons this week and it's so fun! And a little spiritual thought to finish it off :)
Matthew 14:25-33. Jesus walks on the water, and invites disciple Peter to walk to Him. Peter, focused on Christ, walks on the water to Jesus. It wasn't until he took his eyes off Jesus and started paying attention to the wind and storm around him that he started to sink and called out "Lord, save me." There are so many distractions and "storms" and things going on in our lives that can cause us to lose sight of Christ, or to take our focus off of Him. But as we keep our focus on Christ we won't sink! Keep your faith in Him, and He will strengthen us and uphold us. Keep your focus on Christ and you will start to draw closer to Him and become more like Him. In the short time that I have been a missionary representing Christ, I have seen that in myself in growing closer to Him and I know it is true.
I love this gospel! I love my Savior! And I am truly SO happy to be a missionary and am so excited for this journey ahead of me.
HAVE A GREAT WEEK! Be happy! There are so many things to be grateful for!
