John's Song
HELLO everyone!!! (Subject line is a GOOD SONG)
This week was full of RAIN, poison ivy, exchanges in Salina, Braums, and lots of lessons with members! And an ITALIAN lesson!
Weather was WEIRD this week in the high 40s! So we were mostly inside this week as it was rainy as well:) All good though still fun. But I do love the sun.
Sister Wirick and I both got poison ivy at service last weekend which was also wild! Not very fun because it's itchy... but also kinda an adventure and bucket list moment maybe?!
And IN PERSON 24 hour exchanges with our Sister Training Leaders! Sister Adams and Sister Peterson - they are the coolest! We travelled to Salina and worked with them in their apartment! No pictures, but I was with Sister Adams, and we worked over her area... (She is HILARIOUS) delivering lots of cookies and notes and having phone call lessons with sweet old ladies! It was fun working in a family war... as majority of my lessons currently are with ysa college kids, it was fun having a bit of a change! And also the Braums ice cream in Salina. So good. We got it twice in 24 hours! As of the work in Manhattan, lessons have fallen through with quite a few of our investigators with them being busy with school and activities and things and also a few of them have tested positive for corona which is WILD but also I guess a tender mercy that it was so rainy and cold this week so we didn't get to meet with them in person haha! But yeah so we taught a lot of members this week which was so fun! There are some amazing members here in the branch, and I always learn something new after meeting with them!
Sorella Perschon and I taught a member in the ward she is covering IN ITALIAN. It was so fun.
We had another lesson with Rae this week and we talked about faith! She is still doing great and we can start to see her accepting it for herself and planting that seed of faith and we are so excited to see how she progresses!
We did a beautiful sunrise hike this morning for pday with my district and the other Manhattan district which was so fun! That's all for me this week! Still happy here in Manhattan and on my mission. Life is good!
ALSO JOE AND SADIE THIS WEEK CONGRATS I LOVE YOU BOTH LOTS!!!!
Ether 6:7 - "When they were buried in the deep, there was no water that could hurt them, their vessels being tight like unto a dish..."
The story of the Brother of Jared and his family is truly amazing. We learn in Ether 2 that when we are built according to the instructions of the Lord, we are built "tight like unto a dish". And IF we are built like this, nothing will hurt us when we are down in the depths of the sea. IF we are built on the foundation of Christ, we shall not fall.
I love you all very very much :) CIAO!! have a great and happy week!
