Sonic Cream Slushies
Ciaowdy friends! Another great week here in Kansas! Definitely some very slow days but some great moments as well!
Sister Wirick has a friend in Florida we have been teaching and she is amazing. She is 17 and has gone to church and young women's before! So yeah we've been teaching her over zoom and we invited her this week to be baptized. She really wants to, but because she was baptized as a baby, it's a tough situation with her parents' permission and whatnot but still working on it! She's awesome.
Sister Wirick is the best. Yes there are some things that are different between us but some things so similar! I can't count the number of times we opened our mouth and said the exact same thing this week haha! She's the cutest. She's been here in the Manhattan YSA for 6 months.
Manhattan is a cute college town! There's a whole lot of apartment complexes, food places, malls, shops and things. Not many like huge business buildings but I love it! And there are so many hills and trees and also some great Kansas fields!!! I LOVE it here.
We taught a guy from india that we found on a random Christian Facebook group which was... interesting haha
We saw an idea of drawing out a lesson in chalk on a sidewalk so we decided to go do that on K State Campus with one of the young women and a new sister in the online MTC in the family ward here. We did the Plan of Salvation - we did pretty good to be honest haha
Lots and lots of service this week! Don't worry I have been so diligent in my bug spray though so never getting any more mosquito bites.
Also Carissa and Angelo. Super cool experience with them. Our mission has been getting into making facebook teaching videos to post on our page. And our zone was in charge of doing the videos for the commandments, and lucky enough Sister Wirick and I got assigned the Law of Chastity haha. We had nooo idea how we could make a video that was interesting/engaging to watch for random people but also teach the principles?? So we were in our apartment struggling to come up with something, decided to go outside to brainstorm ideas with a new environment haha. Like 5 minutes after we sit down, this girl is out walking with a dog, and lucky enough, Sister Wirick loves dogs so naturally the dog comes up to us. And we get to talk to this girl - Carissa who is our neighbor - about us as missionaries and set a follow up to teach her and her boyfriend. They are so cool. We've only had 2 lessons with them but they are doing well :)
I was reading in 3 Nephi 17 this morning and holy smokes it is so good.
3 Nephi 17:5- they were in tears and did look STEADFASTLY upon him as if they would ask him to tarry a little longer with them.
Verse 6- Behold my bowels are filled with compassion towards you.
Verse 20-21 - Blessed are ye because of your faith... my joy us full. And when He said these words, He wept.
How beautiful is that! Just a beautiful expression of Christ's love. It gets me everytime! I know with all my soul that HE LOVES US!!! Never ever doubt that! So happy to be a missionary here! Life is good here in Kansas :))
